Farmers Market

Wonderful Day for the farmers market. Got lots of beautiful veggies from a local organic farmer. Last year I went to visit their farm with my two boys. We saw all the animals and fed the goats. They have a huge bee hive and some of the best honey I have ever tasted. It is so satisfying to spend my money in a way that benefits my local community. Seeing their operation helped me to understand that I can live a "greener" lifestyle while still living in suburbia. Little changes in spending habits all help to the common good. there is lots to learn about canning, and preserving food but if I can learn a little each year some day my sustainability dream can come true. When I am ready for it. For now I will support the people who are already doing it and hopefully gain a bit of knowledge in the process.

first day of school

Today is Atreyu's first day of 2nd grade at DCS Montessori. We walked him in and he went right to an activity. No shyness, no hesitation. I hope and pray this will be an excellent fit for him. Halem starts on Thursday. We are all so excited. I will be driving there a lot! 3 times a day to be exact , but it will give me time to become a gym rat. Hopefully future posts will be something like this... "Wow awesome I lost 17 lbs and am loving my new life, kids are happy and my house is a well oiled machine"! Miracles happen folks i see them everyday within my children

communication

Navigating though life in such a technical way is amazing to me. I do not mean to seem like a dinosaur but it is very strange the new way in which we all communicate. My husband and I text around 5 times a day, sometimes when we are in the same house just to avoid yelling up the stairs. I cannot tell you when the last time I wrote more then a grocery list. I did start writing a book but that I did only here on the Mac. It all feels very Orwellian when I actually have time to think about it. I mean yeah, you do get to communicate in a instant but is that really a good thing. Sometimes the thoughts I have change from moment to moment. I am not sure I need some of them recorded in some cyberspace land for all time. traveling round the universe, being picked up by Alien creatures. If so I am not so sure that I want my thoughts to be the representation. Although I guess it would be true. You have to wonder too is all this technology giving us more personality or is that an illusion and it really makes us more the same?
